Minister of Small Business Rechie Valdez made a notable endorsement during her recent guest appearance on the Barangay Canada video podcast, where she expressed her strong support for Mark Carney as the next leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and future Prime Minister.
Speaking with host Kabarangay Kris Ontong, Minister Valdez greeted the Filipino-Canadian audience warmly before sharing her reasons for backing Carney.
Minister Valdez highlighted Carney’s impressive credentials, describing him as a “world-renowned economist and former governor of the Bank of Canada.” She emphasized his strong leadership and expertise in economic matters, stating that he is the steady and experienced leader Canada needs to tackle pressing national challenges, including the cost of living, affordable housing, and trade issues such as American tariffs.
