The invited speakers of Saturday’s online event entitled Thrive Even When Life Feels Chaotic And Uncertain delivered on their promise to provide actionable insights on how to thrive amid this pandemic. Barangay Canada co-founder and Filipino Journal columnist Kris Ontong shared how members of the Filipino community in Canada were coping with these unprecedented times. Among the key insights mentioned were:
1. Controlling one’s reaction to the situation
2. Focusing on things within one’s control
3. Making the most of one’s time when staying home
4. Re-inventing one’s self by learning new skills
The Calgary-based Immigrant Life Podcast, The Canadian Narrative, organized the event, with Barangay Canada as a media partner. It was hosted on Hopin (https://hopin.to), a new service that describes itself as “the first all-in-one live online events platform where attendees can learn, interact, and connect with people from anywhere in the world.”
