The Manitoba Filipino Community takes the spotlight again from August 26 to 28 with the return of Kultivation Festival FAMD. Launched in early 2020 before being sidetracked by the pandemic lockdown, the Festival is bouncing back to showcase Filipino food, arts, music and dance at various participating establishments around Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Kicking off this Friday, you can treat your taste buds to Khao House’s Spicy Filipino Spaghetti, Wall Street Slice’s “Pogi Pig” Sisig Pizza, and One Great City Brewing’s Halo-Halo Beer that comes with toasted coconut and ube! Bored of the usual strawberry picking? Switch up to a relaxing Garden Tour and Flower U-Pick at Masagana Flower Farm. You can also catch the book tour of Home Is In The Body: 2SLGBTQIA+ FilipinX Femme, North of the 49th Parallel published by Aksiyon Ng Ating Kabataan, Inc. (ANAK).
The full schedule of activities can be seen on the Kultivation Festival website. Have fun, kabarangays and Canadian friends!
