In this second part of Barangay Canada’s episode about Distinguished Canadians, Kabarangay Kris (Kris Ontong) chats with multi-awarded public health professional Dr. Denise Koh about her latest accolade, her involvement with a new medical book, and her MedResRx app.
A second-generation Filipina-Canadian Public Health specialist with training in Occupational Medicine and Family Medicine, Dr. Koh is Manitoba’s Chief Occupational Medical Officer as well as a Medical Officer of Health in Environmental Health and Emergency Preparedness.
Last year she was honoured to be among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award (Canadian Tire Community Impact category) and received the Canadian Occupational Safety’s Top Woman in Safety Award. In October of this year, it was announced that Dr. Koh is the recipient of the prestigious “Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World” award from the Foundation for Filipina Women’s Network. The awarding ceremony will be held in Prague, the Czech Republic.
